A reporter asked me last week: Throughout the whole Step 30 project, do you have a picture that’s very special to you? Something with a story behind it?
I took out this one and showed it to him.
The very same week that this picture was taken, I was in Kenya, missing out on my daughter’s first birthday. As we went to this village to share the Gospel and distribute shoes from Taiwan, I saw this little girl crawling on the dirt road. I picked her up and played with her for a little while, and then I found out it was actually her first birthday that week too, just like my daughter.
Before we left, I noticed that she still had no shoes on her feet, I then realized there were not many baby shoes in the container we sent. So I knelt down and said to her and her mother: I’m going back to Taiwan next month, but I’ll be back, and I’ll bring you a pair of shoes. I promise!
